ch-ch-ch-changes
Man, the past few weeks have been a whirlwind. Since I last blogged, my best friend has come and spent 5 days with us, Kevin's had terrible things happen to his truck, and I've been working overtime nearly every day. Maybe it's only 30 minutes here and an hour there, but when you go from getting home at 5:30 to getting home at 6:30 or 7, it really changes the way your day feels.My bosses have agreed to give me a raise. How much? Shit, I don't know. I just know it's coming in August.
Kevin starts his new job tomorrow as a hardware technician. He's super excited to be a) getting out of the food service industry, b) getting a regular check instead of counting on tips, and c) doing something that he really enjoys doing. I'm excited for him. I know that this change is going to have a very positive impact on his life.
Nevin has taken to calling Kevin his step-dad. I guess this means that he's officially been accepted as a figure in his life. I think it's just awesome. It kind of makes Kevin nervous sometimes, but he's getting used to it.
The next few weeks should be just as amazingly busy. Kevin's mom is coming up at the end of July. The 1st of August, Nevin's soccer season starts. The 5th of August is my 11-year class reunion (yeah, we're slackers), and the 12th is Nevin's 6th birthday. Then, we get a couple of weeks to breathe before school starts up on August 28th. I hope everyone gets him school clothes for his birthday! You know he's got PLENTY of toys. *grin*
